“Somethin’ with a ‘m’ or ‘n’.”

That was all he needed to hear. As far as he knew from maps and the like, there were no towns in this area named anything starting with an ‘m’, at least nothing rebuilt enough to warrant its own signpost, and the only town around here starting with ‘n’ was… He swallowed down the name, not even allowing his conscious mind to think it, despite how painfully it battered against his chest. He hadn’t been to N- this town in years, not since the fire. Had not even cast so much as a glance at it ever since regaining control of himself. What would it be like now…?

Cloud was so caught up in thoughts of the town that he nearly missed all of the rest of Fang’s words, only catching the end of her second question as he forced his memories away. “The law?” Was he in trouble with it? He didn’t think so, but, after everything, he would not be surprised to find himself unwanted. “No, it’s not like that. It’s just… I don’t know. I haven’t been here in years.”

It was not a satisfactory answer, not by a long shot, but the woman in front of him was nearly a complete stranger, and as far as he was concerned, he owed her nothing more. In fact, now that he knew where he was, whether he wanted to be there or not, he wanted to know more about her. “You’re obviously not from this world. What do you want here?” He might not have been standing in Radiant Garden, but he’d been defending that city for so long that the words came easily to his lips.

Yeah Fang, where are you from? Your original home does no longer exist and even the link to the right dimension has gone astray. To be frank, Fang had no idea how to answer that question properly without spoiling herself. Moreover…what did that man knew and what not? What was he allowed to know and what should better be kept back? Oh…and don’t forget about the purpose.

Verdant, bright occulars that would slowly squint beneath furrowed brows - That Cloud appeared to be pretty diverted by something. He furthermore just bought what the dragoon had told him. Good. There was no need to drill in affairs that the pulsian kept as a secret. So..what was actually bothering him? That village? Most likely. It wasn’t hard to guess that there must be a conncetion between that guy and that…hicksville. Stern lips that curved up into a more sarcastic smirk, ere the huntress gave that man a fitting answer. " Let’s see...“ One,two steps were taken, as the pulsian almost surrounded the soldier’s physique. ”Guess Ah’m lost an’ I need someone that saves meh out of mah misery.“ It was sarcasm. You could almost taste it.

This guy felt uncomfortable about that place, and Fang urged to use that as an advantage…

Cloud was it,eh?“ As usual her head tended swiftly aside. That smirk transformed into a more mocking grin, ere she rose her deep voice again. ”What do ya think…? How would the people in that hicksville react if Ah accidently drop ye nick there?“ It was a trick. Possibly even a straight down unfair one, but Fang couldn’t mention her purpose yet…not now. An agenda like hers should stay a mystery…as long as possible.

Would he get the wink? No more questions…that was all,the tanned woman wished for now.
